The Static Brothers love a special occasion. So on this the occasion of our first release by an Icelandic artist we needed to pull out all the stops. So, we got all our Boston ; Kansas and Reo Speedwagon albums out and burned them.
A Fantastic time was had by all but to our astonishment the Speedwagon vinyl just wouldn’t burn!!!. So there you go. If you choose to burn records Boston and Kansas are good, Reo Speedwagon = Non- Flammable.
Quite frankly, when we played the new Plastik record our balls dropped.
For it has been said by non other than the very postman who brings the static mail, that this runs the Boards of Canada a very close head.
Imagine the soundtrack to the digital remastered BBC classic “Our Day Out” as played by isan with Mellow Candle singer......Hot like, Chilli!
500 issue seven-inch vinyl record with static hunchback trading card.
Past and Future
Plastik aka Steini aka Aoalsteinn Guomundsson spent many years at the edges of the Icelandic electronic scene, and has a bagfull of releases on Smekkleysa and Thule Records amongst others. He manages to combine his many projects with degree studies on “ Mid 80’s radio one jingles” at the University of Iceland where the honoury professor is Dave Lee Travis.
Future plans are a whole album in the key C# and maybe an “eye of the duck” show, if we can get Budgie and Steam Hammer to play as well.
