Christmas with the static boys is always a blast. Last year one of the lads received a human foot with a tag on it’s shrivelled big toe. It simply red. “ Dave Lee Travis does not need this anymore.... love and best wishes E*Vax.” What the!! They proclaimed, they could have at least wrapped it.
As punishment and an apology, Evan Vax promised us a single to see in the New Year, and here it is. Esoteric electronica; precise yet oblique and rather beautiful with the right amount of silence and sound. It sounds perfect using just a pair of human ears.
So Logan berry pie and chips with heaps of e*vax and custard.
This will indeed be a Christmas to savour.

Past recordings by Evan Mast are sold out singles on ADR and Static Caravan and an appearance on the excellent compilation “Putting the Morr back into Morrissey” , on influential label Morr Music. Due soon is an album on ADR “ Parking Lot Music” to be followed by an EP for Tom Records.
