Hannah Peel
Hey Santa
Digital download single released 13th December 2010
Available from iTunes

Anyone who’s heard Hannah Peel’s recent single Re-Boxed – which re-imagines a quartet of 1980s synthtastic pop songs on music boxes – will know that Ms Peel isn’t your average young new songwriter. And seen as though it’s December and snow is in the air, it’s only fitting she release a more festive folk-pop gem of her very own.

Written and sung by Hannah, but a special collaboration with both herself and Tunng’s Mike Lindsay laying down the music, it twinkles with Christmas cheer. The kind of yuletide ditty to tip-toe around the house to and sneak a peak at what’s under the tree - of course complete with subtle, but obligatory Sleighbells!

It’s available to download now and the track will be aired exclusively on BBC Radio 2 this Tuesday 14th December by Radcliffe & Maconie as one of their 4 chosen ‘Pick n Mix’ tracks.

And as we know Hannah’s not an artist to conform to the norm, listen out for her multi-instrumental skills she’s just recorded for a session on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction featuring collaborations with rapper Ty and experimental jazz saxophonist Jason Yarde, to air on 23rd December. With musical presents like this, we really do wish it could be Christmas everyday!

Don’t worry if you missed her recent tour with Blue Roses, Hannah will be playing more shows early 2011:

February 27th BBC Radio 6Music Cerys Matthews Session
March 16th BRIGHTON Ballroom
March 17th BIRMINGHAM Glee Club
